Sri Lanka's Minister of Education Prof. GL Peiris said Monday that steps will be taken to start pre-schools, primary grades in schools and tuition classes in January next year.

The dates for their resumption will be announced within two weeks, he said.

The Minister pointed out that the Ministry of Education has decided to reopen pre-schools, primary classes and tuition classes for the future of the children of the country following the health guidelines, social distancing and other health practices wherever possible in the country.
