Steps have been taken to deploy trained dogs for security operations at the country’s international airports.

A group of 20 trained dogs, specially trained as sniffer dogs in detecting drugs and explosives will be officially deployed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today to further strengthen security.

The dogs have been trained to easily identify explosives and narcotics that can be secretly carried in the air and in luggage.
