As the head of a research-driven agricultural institute,  Rajvanshi has done some pioneering work in improving lives of rural people in western Maharashtra through technology, especially in the use of solar lanterns, the use of sweet sorghum for food and fuel and the concept of e-rickshaws and rural restaurants for the poor.
