Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, saying she foresees the bilateral relationship reaching newer heights in the coming days.

"Indeed, I look forward to working closely with you in attaining those ideals as well as effectively confronting the evils of terrorism, violent extremism, hatred, forced displacements as of the Rohingyas, and for the realisation of a safer and a better world," she wrote in her message to Biden.

On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, Hasina conveyed warmest congratulations to Biden on his victory in the Nov 3 presidential election.
