Experts believe that the US is likely to make more use of drones to spy on China, media reports said.

US spy drones are set to become a more frequent sight in the skies around China as the military confrontation between the two countries in the region ramps up another notch, according to experts as reported by South China Morning Post.

The US Navy said on Friday that two MQ-4C Triton drones had been temporarily relocated from Guam to the Misawa base in northern Japan, reported the newspaper.

It was the first time the high-altitude long endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) had been deployed to Japan, it said.

“The Triton is an unarmed, unmanned aerial reconnaissance system that provides the Japan-US alliance with enhanced maritime surveillance capabilities,” it was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

The relationship between the US and China has touched new lows over the years.

Both the nations have exchanged barbs over numerous issues including COVID-19 spread.
