Nepalgunj: As many as 687 Nepalis stopped at the Indian side of Nepal-India border in Nepalgunj due to the nationwide lockdown have been brought to Nepal while 1,483 Indians have been sent to India via the same border point on Thursday.
According to the agreement reached between the District Administration, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, security authorities of Nepal and authorities of India, citizens stranded at both sides of the Jamunaha border point have been sent to their respective countries.
The Nepalis brought to Nepal late last night have been kept at kept at Dusgaja area.
According to Shiva Bahadur Singh, Spokesperson at the District Police Office Banke, Nepalis from other parts of the countries will be sent to their home districts after Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).
With the operation of Rail service in India the number of Nepalis waiting to enter the country via various check points have increased.
It has been reported that with the influx of Nepalis returning from India, emptying quarantine facilities in the district are unlikely to house all the returnees.
