At least 33 people were killed and another 48 wounded in two separate bombing incidents in Afghanistan, TOLOnews reported. The incidents were reported from Ghazi and Zabul provinces. 

In the first incident, a suicide bomber on Sunday morning ran his Humvee military vehicle, full of explosives, onto a military public protection unit stationed in Ghazni city, killing at least 30 soldiers and wounding 24. 

TOLOnews reported, citing sources, that the station also houses elite military commandos of Afghan forces. No group has yet taken the responsibility for the attack. 

In a separate incident, reported from Zabul province, a suicide bomber targeted, though unsuccessfully, the head of the Zabul provincial council in Qalat district on Sunday morning. The attack killed at least three people and wounded another 24. No group has yet taken responsibility for the attack. 

The deadly attacks come a day after the Taliban claimed on Saturday evening that an agreement on procedural rules was finalized on November 15 between the Afghan government and the Taliban. The Afghan government, however, claimed it wasn’t finalized yet. 

The Afghan government and the Taliban have been engaged in direct intra-Afghan talks since 12 September in a bid to end the forty-year long war in Afghanistan. But both the parties are yet to agree on procedural rules to start broader talks.
