Afghan security force foils car bomb attack in Khost

Government officials from Khost province in Afghanistan confirmed on Tuesday morning that a car bomb targeted a compound of a special unit and some attackers tried to enter the building, Tolo News reported. 

Confirming the development, Taleb Mangal, a spokesperson of the provincial governor, said that the bomb exploded near the wall of the police compound around 6 am local time. Some attackers managed to enter the compound and are clashing with security forces, said Daoud Tarakhel, provincial police chief of Khost. 

Another car bomb was destroyed by security forces before it could reach its target, but several security forces were injured in the operation, Tarakhel added while giving no further detail in this regard.
