Authorities in Bangladesh have extended ongoing restrictions on public transport and movement till 16 June as the coronavirus cases remain unchecked in several of its districts. The positivity rates among border districts in Bangladesh are still high.
Under the rules, public transports, including inter-district buses, will carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health rules. Restaurants are allowed to serve food at half capacity between 6 am to 10 pm and also provide takeaway and online services.
The Bangladesh cabinet on Sunday issued a notification regarding the extension of restrictions. The decision was taken after having detailed discussions with commissioners and deputy commissioners of high-risk districts in the country.
The country has been under restrictions now well over two months period. However, restrictions have been eased over the period in the districts with low caseloads.
