Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government will light up every house across the country within the 'Mujib Barsha' (Mujib Year) by bringing all people under the electricity coverage.
"Some 40 out of our 64 districts are now under full electricity coverage. We've been able to ensure cent percent electrification of villages in 410 upazilas. We'll light up every house in Bangladesh by bringing the remaining districts and upazilas (under the cent percent electrification) by the 'Mujib Barsha’, and we’ve been working to achieve this goal,” she said.
“We want to educate our new generation in such a way so that they can move keeping pace with the competitive world. So, technology education is a must (for them),” the prime minister said while inaugurating Sheikh Kamal IT Incubator and Training Centre at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park in Rajshahi through video-conferencing from Dhaka.
Hasina said that her government wanted to establish a technology-based society.
“This is why we’ve taken various steps, including providing computer education and setting up multimedia classrooms in educational institutions, so that the new generation gets attracted to technology education,” she added.
