Elections Commission president Ahmed Shareef Adam has called on political parties not to encourage behaviour and action that would create public unrest.
The commissioner made the statement on Twitter after a participant of a TV programme aired by Channel 13 called for acts of terrorism to be carried out against Maldives President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Channel 13 is largely believed to be a media wing of the opposing Progressive Party of the Maldives, PPM.
