Nepal’s former tourism officer gets Tourism Heroes Award

Deepak Raj Joshi, former CEO of Nepal’s Tourism Board, has been awarded the Tourism Heroes Award by the World Tourism Network, The Himalayan Times reported. Joshi became the first Nepali and only South Asian to bag the award. 

The award was conferred on him for his service in promoting tourism and the positive impact it had on people’s lives in the region. 

“The international recognition has given me more impetus to dedicate myself for the upliftment and development of the hospitality sector as a whole,” Joshi said after receiving the award.
