Sri Lanka State Minister of Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development, Shehan Semasinghe says that steps have been taken to set up a rural trade network of 25,000 women entrepreneurs that will implement the government decisions as they are instead of a network of buyers that exploits the consumers, traders and farmers.

The minister is confident that this network of women entrepreneurs will create a strong distribution network in the face of epidemics such as Covid.

State Minister Semasinghe said this while participating in the launching ceremony of concessionary loan proposals for small and medium scale entrepreneurs. The event was held in Anuradhapura recently with the contribution of the Sri Lanka Savings Bank.
