Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Thursday discharged from hospital Thursday after recovering from COVID-19.

Singh, 88, was admitted to the Trauma Centre of Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Apr 19 as a precautionary measure.

The veteran Congress leader has already received two doses of the indigenous COVID-19 vaccine, Covaxin.

Before his hospitalisation, Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering some advice on handling the COVID-19 pandemic.  He was snubbed by Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for offering what he implied was unsolicited advice and said he was being misled by his Congress party.
