Jammu and Kashmir has administered Covid 19 vaccines to nearly 70 percent of its population in the 45 plus age group, with an official saying it was perhaps the best performance in the entire country.

Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo said the union territory has expedited vaccination of all age groups and is fast moving in terms of the percentage of people covered in the 45 plus age group.

“Nearly 70 percent people have already been covered in this most vulnerable group, the best performance in entire India,” Dulloo said.

Dulloo said in the younger age group, adequate stock of vaccines had been made available in the eight districts where vaccination was underway.

“In Jammu, Kathua, Doda, Udhampur, Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla and Ganderbal the vaccination is going on with full force,” he said.
