Data released by the Maldives’ Immigration authority showed that the country has so far received a total of 27,217 tourists in the last three months. 

Maldives closed its border on March 27 and reopened on July 15. So far in October alone, the highest number of visitors, 2308, were from Russia, followed by the USA, 656, and from UAE the country received 444 visitors. 

Recently Maldives permitted local guesthouses to open in nine residential islands in the country to boost the local economy.  Increased number of airline operations to Maldives also increased in recent days.
