Nineteen people have been injured in Nepal during a religious procession, locally known as Bisket Jatra, in the Bhaktpur municipality area, as per a report in the Himalayan Times.

The incident happened on Sunday when a chariot fell during the procession, injuring two people who came under the wheels of the chariot, Nepali police claimed. Other people sustained injuries after clashes broke out among different groups.

Reports say the clashes erupted late in the evening on Sunday over the routes for the chariots. Authorities allotted a different route this time than the traditional route chariots used to take earlier. Some people also pelted stones when the scuffle broke out there.

Injured people were taken to Bhaktpur District Hospital and some other hospitals in Kathmandu Valley.
