An online counselling and therapy platform, said to be the first of its kind to support the mental health of Nepalis around the globe, has been launched to provide a safe space for people to discuss their issues, pains, and their feelings to a professional.

Mankaa Kura would help Nepalis in Nepal and abroad, who have mental health issues, choose suitable and affordable healthcare.

According to World Health Organisation, there has been a 13 percent rise in mental health conditions, half of which start by 14 years of age. For many, the cases go undetected, and this perhaps accounts for 76 percent to 85 percent of people with mental health issues residing in low and middle-income countries who receive no treatment at all.

“The aim is to provide a safe space for people to talk about their issues, their pains, and their feelings to a professional counsellor, who can, in turn, help them understand their emotions, provide them with unbiased guidance, and sometimes ––a listening ear,” the platform said in a statement.

It also claimed that Mankaa Kura was the first platform to support the mental health of Nepalis around the globe.
