For all my proclamations  of belief, 
Which in intent and conviction are true,
I waver sometimes in the midst of doubt
When I look at the sky and it isn't blue.

When along the shores I sometimes walk 
and the morning mist greets me,
I wonder why the world is grey and
Why the sun doesn't shine for me.

And on the days when my yearning eyes espy 
the rising Orb and its rays,
My hopes soar and my fears run
in the majesty of His inexplicable ways.

The questions then like vapours do 
Disappear,
Will they come haunt me again I wonder, Do you?

Why do the grey days lead to doubt 
and strong faith waver too,
Do you have an answer, Ashok, Do you have a clue?

Easy it is to doubts raise, 
Easy to question belief,
Who has seen the God above, 
Who the source of relief?

The answer, my friends, is surely there 
and lies in the way we're made,
If we weren’t mortal and lived forever 
you'd never go looking for shade,
 
When with each passing day we see, 
the glow of the setting sun ,
The darkness about leaves us in fright 
for the night has a long way to run.

The very nature of faith demands 
an unquestioning, believing mind, 
And natural it is for us to find, 
even the strongest amongst us,
in a mental bind.

Doubts then do not mean 
that faith is lost and forlorn,
Cos when you go to sleep at night 
you do with hope of the morn,

If hope wasn't there what would you do,
you wouldn’t even be able to sleep the night through.
No dichotomy then between faith and doubt
For doubt it is that drives faith.
