Never has the world so lost its way
As it has, alas, so sadly today,
Cities in ruins, homes destroyed
The look on those faces filled with void,
 
Wars to keep Peace in safe custody
In the hands of those with “arms” mastery,
Technology at their fingertips
Missiles fired as the Sun dips,

To awaken and slaughter those who sleep at night
And, those who don’t because of fright,
Hunger stalks vast areas of land
Then relief air-dropped in gestures grand,

The look on the faces of the powers-that-be
Their concerns all fake, these ‘makers’ of destiny,
Forget they do in their arrogance supreme

There world a ‘make-believe’, a sordid dream,
Where they too will one day bite the dust
Lie in graves into which they’re thrust
And, join those whom they mercilessly killed

Their graves will be with those memories filled,
To haunt them even as they lie still
Till ants and worms have had their fill
Of them.

Will we ever live in harmony
Or, annihilate mankind to find eternity?
Will these men of dust and straw
Learn the meaning of melt and thaw,

Or, will the “ice” between us fail to do so
And, humanity wear the funeral trousseau ?
