No matter, if we're Black or White

Why am I White not Yellow, Brown or Black

Why am I White not Yellow, Brown or Black

For, I like the skin that’s dark,

Crazily, do I go tanning around

From beach to sand to park.

They move much better than I do

There’s a rhythm akin to sweet melody,

The spring in the step, the elegant swagger

Being White, seems almost a tragedy.

Why do the shades of our skins matter

When colours are only skin deep,

Hearts within have no colours

That interfere with precious sleep.

Why is the world turning against me

‘Cause that leaves me in complete disarray!

.Let’s bury or burn this Colour and Race thing

So,  here’s what I wish to say.

No matter, if we’re Black or White

Or, a Pale or Shining Yellow,

Dark as “choco” or Light as the Sparrow

So long, as I’m a good fellow

And, the heart that beats within me

Is pure, calm and serene,

Let’s all be, colour regardless

A One World, Happy Family Scene.

I know it seems like wishful thinking

But, what else are Realized Dreams?

Alas! Man’s a Colossal Fool , no doubt

Next, the eyes and the colour of Blue Streams.

Do tensions and infighting

Just need to be around,

To feed Man’s lust and greed

Till some other pretext is found.

The Skin today, the Eyes tomorrow

Happiness drowned in needless Sorrow,

Pretexts needed by those in Power

To continue reigning from their Gilded Tower???
