Rise To The Challenge, O Lord
Through the tavern door as I stumbled forth
Through the tavern door as I stumbled forth,
Into the darkness,
The wilderness of night,
Did I perceive light
Not in the eyes but within,
An intoxication that revealed
Me to me
Inhibitions gone,
Face to face with myself,
The heart, not mind the master.
O, Tavern-keeper in the skies
Beyond the blue that meets my eyes,
Through the haze of fumes
I think I see you, in all your majesty
In the form of the Light within me,
Then why the darkness?
If your fallen angel resides by your side,
Chide him,
Not punish me for sins I commit,
For that is only fair,
Else banish him from your sight
And from within me.
Rise to the challenge, O Lord,
And save your own,
Your creation, your Man,
From self destruction
From extinction.
