Pakistan: 'Converted' Hindu girl handed over to police

A Hindu girl, who has been allegedly converted to Islam and was suspected to be kidnapped recently, has been handed over to the Tangwani police of Kandhkot-Kashmore district by the management of the Bharchundi Sharif shrine in Pakistan, media reports said.
She has been identified as Kaweeta Odh.
Her parents and relatives claim that she was underage (13), reports Dawn News.
Her counsel, Advocate Saeed Ahmed Bijarani, however, told reporters as quoted by Dawn News outside a civil court in Tangwani, that she had already recorded her statement in court and that she had embraced Islam and adopted her new name, Umme Hina.
The girl has been taken to a shelter home in Kandhkot for 24 hours on the orders of civil judge Munawwar Hussain Pirzada under strict security.
