Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javad Bajwa has said Pakistan values strong diplomatic, economic, and defense relations with Australia, reported Geo News. The statement came after his meeting with the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Geoffrey Shaw in Rawalpindi. 

The high commissioner met with the army chief in General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, said a statement released by the army’s media wing (ISPR). The two have discussed the matters of mutual interests, along with other regional issues. 

The statement also added that the Afghan peace process and bilateral cooperation in various fields were also discussed. 

The statement claimed that the Australian high commissioner praised the positive role of Pakistan in establishing peace in the region. Both leaders also reiterated their desire to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the statement added.
