Three Nepali sisters, attempting to set a world record by climbing the highest mountains of all seven continents, on Wednesday successfully scaled the world's highest peak Mount Everest. They are the first three sisters to reach the top of the mountain together, The Himalayan Times reported.
Base camp officials said Nima Jangbu, Tshering Namgya and Dawa Futi Sherpa from Rolwaling Valley under the campaign "Three Sisters on Seven Summit" stood atop Mt Everest at around 7:00 am after they found a clear window to make the summit.
"They also created a history in the country by climbing Mt Everest together," said Mingma Gyalje Sherpa, a guide.
The expedition was organized by Imagine Nepal Treks and Expedition.
Nima Jangmu Sherpa had earlier climbed Everest, Lhotse and Kanchenjunga in a single season within 25 days in 2018 and also become the only Nepali woman to stand atop the world's third-highest peak.
Dawa Futi, the youngest sister, had climbed Amadablam.
They had also climbed the Lobuche peak on April 24.
