Chairman of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) investigating the incident of political victimization Retired Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyratne today (Sept 7) issued a final notice to 16 people, including former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, to appear before the PCoI on 19th October.

The Chairman of the Commission Upali Abeyratne stated that legal action will be taken in accordance with the powers vested in the Commission against those responsible for not appearing before the Commission on that day regarding a complaint lodged by Kithsiri Ranawaka, a former director of Divi Neguma.

The complaint lodged by Kithsiri Ranawaka has named 16 respondents including former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Rauff Hakeem, Sarath Fonseka, and Malik Samarawickrema, TNA leader R. Sampanthan, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, MP President Counsel MA Sumanthiran, former MPs President Counsel Jayampathi Wickramaratne and President Counsel JC Weliamuna.
