Over 40,000 individuals are currently under quarantine process across the country of which nearly 33,000 individuals are observed and monitored by PHIs while 7,128 persons are quarantined in 73 quarantine centers operated by the Army in the aftermath of the Minuwangoda cluster.

Public Health Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) Secretary M. Balasooriya told Daily Mirror that out of the total persons under self-quarantine, over 10,000 are from the Gampaha district where the risk is still on
