For the first time in history, Sri Lanka held a virtual cabinet meeting using video technology.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa chaired the meeting from the Presidential Secretariat while the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and other ministers of the cabinet joined the meeting from their respective ministries. The meeting was a success, President’s Office said.

The video cabinet meeting was organized taking into account not only the COVID epidemic but also the efficiency, convenience, time and cost savings.
