After a long gap of 12 days, contact groups from the Taliban and the Afghan government met yesterday in Doha, Qatar, to discuss the procedural rules for negotiations.
Meetings came after the involvement of US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and diplomats from the other nations but failed to end the deadlock over two contentious issues.
Taliban’s spokesperson of Doha Office, Dr. Naeem told TOLOnews, “This evening a meeting was held between the two contact groups and during the meeting, the remaining contentious issues were discussed, and it was agreed that meetings would continue.”
