Hoarafushi airport, with 1.2 km long runway, is the biggest airport under construction by MTCC.
The company said 99 percent of the runway, 50 percent of fire service, and 75 percent of terminal work has been completed. The remaining part is expected to be finished by Sunday.
Adam Azim, CEO of TMCC, visited the airport today to take stock of the progress. Currently, the Maldives has 16 airports, 4 international and 12 domestic. Hoarafushi airport is being developed as a domestic airport in the country.
