One-minute Bhutanese film on climate change wins Best Documentary Award

A one-minute Bhutanese film “Snow Lion and The Glaciologist”  has won the Best Documentary Award at the International Mobile Film Festival during the awards ceremony on World Climate Day in Paris on December 8

A one-minute Bhutanese film “Snow Lion and The Glaciologist”  has won the Best Documentary Award at the International Mobile Film Festival during the awards ceremony on World Climate Day in Paris on December 8. The Mobile Film Festival received 692 films from 92 countries and shortlisted 50 films from 34 countries for the awards.

The film's director Arun Bhattarai was awarded a 5,000 Euro production aid scholarship, director Arun Bhattarai , kuenselonline reported.
He said that he was going to use the grant price to edit his 20-minute documentary titled “ Mountain Man”. "Snow Lion and The Glaciologist" is an excerpt from "Mountain Man".

Bhattarai said he heard about the film festival from his friend and the theme of the festival was in line with the "Mountain Man" documentary he was working on.

The theme of the 17th edition of the festival was  “Making Peace with Nature,” and was launched in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). (SAM)
