Cash-less Life, why not War-less Life?
Cash-less life is a good life
Cash-less life is a good life
But, a war-less life would be better,
Life seems reduced to transactions and tweets
Digitised now is the letter.
Selfies and Smartphones
Smart cars without chauffeurs,
Dress shoes and sandals
Now replaced by ‘loafers’.
A kite was the missile, and
That lethal line of thread,
That launched it to the skies
Leaving no one dead
Unlike the missiles of today
That hurtle through time and space,
Competing with each other
To end the human race.
Have we lost our marbles
Or, gone just plain mad?
Trillions spent on armaments
O poet, you are naïve, sad.
Realpolitik is another world
That you will not comprehend
For, it entails sending everyone
’Round the proverbial bend.
We need weapons we’re told
To keep war at bay,
It’s a deterrent, didn’t you know
To keep peace in play.
Life now’s a game
Wealth creation the end,
Strange that objective
Will it to extinction, man, send?
