Eighty-five people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am Bangladesh Standard Time on Wednesday, according to an official release.

The total number of deaths in the country has reached 13,787 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At least 5,727 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 8,66,877, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 20.27 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.53 percent.
