Doubt, Life’s Eternal Song
Reveal Yourself, O Lord, to me
Reveal Yourself, O Lord, to me
My wavering Faith needs to be lit,
I am a Believer without a shadow of doubt
But, why then am I also tormented by it.
Walking in the dark, with you always in my heart
I should need no aid, nor support,
The light within should the beacon be
Why then am I , of this light, short.
Is any Believer of total faith
Without this demon of “Doubt”,
Does that, then, my Faith question
And answer my wavering about.
Is it only for me to remember you
And, to do so constantly,
Lest I forget You , as I often do
In my moments of vain glory
For, we’re all plagued by, “Yes” and “No”
As also torn, ‘tween “Right” and “Wrong”,
Is this the way You meant it to be
Is this Life’s eternal Song?
O, help me O Lord, as you always do
This journey of mine complete
And, do so with a little greater faith
Not with Doubt, replete.
Amen
