The Drama of Life
The Ferris Wheel goes round and round
The Ferris Wheel goes round and round
As the “Ferris” itself rotates,
Pace unhurried, its purpose a joyful ride
As it innumerable rotations makes.
Not so, alas, with mortal Man
As he plunges from crisis to crisis,
Searching for calm that lies within
Not in the pockets of triumphant success.
To gently move and, often, do nothing
Is an art we all need to learn,
It’s not the sign of a “no- gooder “
The one with Time to burn
For, the wise meditate in silence
Watching the world go by,
The future become a thing of the past
As stars glimmer and still stays the sky.
The grass turns brown and green again
As Time journeys on, unrelenting,
Till It seems to disappear somewhere
When we’re left with our follies, sadly, repenting.
The curtain of the play of life
Does one day close forever,
The grand finale, the last applause
To open again, but never.
