Certainly, do what you think you must
To keep your country ‘first’
But, keep in mind, Mr. Donald Trump, Mr. President
The world’s acute hunger and thirst.
 
For very good reasons
Has the world looked up to USA
For a very, very, long time,
You must please remember
You’re, barely, three centuries old
And, you did not invent the nursery rhyme.
 
There was a world before the USA
And, you were ‘created’ by the rest,
Man’s been around much longer
Though, today, you may feel you’re the best
 
But please also remember, Mr. President
This abode’s ephemeral, nothing’s meant to last
And, time is merciless for it does not forgive
Those, who forget the past.
 
Your lead in technology and Science
Has brought the world closer
Made it Inter-dependent,
Why would you, then, or anyone else
Do things in a hurry
To then, at leisure, repent?
 
Things, we ordinary folks
Read and hear
Are troubling beyond words,
Our hearts full of fear
Wishing we had wings
To fly, as do the birds
 
Away from the carnage and mayhem
The mass migration of people
That on ‘telly’ we daily see,
Innocents, who have nothing to do
With whatever the ‘powers’ pursue
Are fearful, from here to eternity.
 
Four years or eight
Please show us you can bat
Play cricket as it should be played,
In cricketing parlance
And, in simple words
It’s wearing a Gentleman’s hat.
 
What legacy you leave behind
Is up to you and your powerful hands,
The world, however, dumb it may be
Only Peace, not tension, likes and understands.
 
We hope you see the light of day
We hope you show the rest the way
To Peace and Prosperity,
Not just for those
Who in your land reside
But, wherever else they may be.
 
Whatever be your plans, Mr. President
To make America great again, 
Please remember always,
The world is full of only, Women and Men.
