No evil outside of that
Will we ever find,
That which shackles the conscience
And, perverts the human mind.

Conscience is the keeper
Of all that’s good in us,
A mind at peace and rest
Is, indeed, a big plus

For, the mind that’s roiled
And, soiled by greed
Sharpens the rapiers of lust,
Then corrodes iron wills
Bends the straightest of us
As we crumble, rent by rust.

As Gate-keepers,sometimes, falter
Prone to let in
The unwanted and the unwelcome,
The Conscience too
May err in slumber
For a while, while we go numb.

A daily Tete-a-tete
With the Conscience then
Is truly very wise,
For
Thats’s where
All wisdom lies.
