Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s envoy to the United States, has said that the US is perhaps the only country in the world that can persuade India to stop its "subversive activities" in Pakistan, Dawn reported.

“We see the US as perhaps the only country in the world that is in a position to play an important and critical role on this issue," Dawn quoted him as saying.  The US can work and engage to create peace and stability in the region, said Ambassador Asad.

In his interview to Dawn, the envoy said, Pakistan wants the US to help stop Indian "interference" in his country but “We don’t want our relationship with Washington to be Indian specific.”

“Pakistan is large and important enough to have its own relationship with any country, particularly with the United States, which is an old ally," he added. Pakistan has seen a resurgence of attacks over the two years, the envoy said, “unfortunately we see the Indian footprint and Indian fingerprints all over the place.”

It is worth noting here that Islamabad had recently shared a "dossier" with the international community to expose, what they call, “Indian sponsored terrorism” in Pakistan.
