Days after Pakistan cut off all official contacts with Afghan National Security Advisor Hamidullah Mohib over his alleged "abusive" remark, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi advised the former to "reflect and correct" his behavior.
"The national security adviser of Afghanistan carefully listen to me ... as the foreign minister of Pakistan, I say that no Pakistani will shake your hand or talk with you if you don't desist from the kind of language you are using or the accusations you're making against Pakistan," Qureshi was quoted as saying by Dawn while addressing a political rally in Multan.
Mohib earlier called Pakistan a “brothel house” after which controversy erupted between the two nations.
Qureshi on Saturday claimed that his country had suffered a “huge cost” in terms of lives lost and financial consequences of terrorism. “Pakistan is only concerned with peace and stability in the region.
He asked Mohib to correct his behavior else the international community would consider “the national security advisor of Afghanistan” as a spoiler.
Accusing Mohib of an obstacle in the way of peace, Qureshi said, "Therefore, the Afghan nation and the wise citizens of Afghanistan, who wish for peace, should urge him to reflect on his behavior because it is not correct."
