A total of 207 establishments in the Maldives have been closed for safety guidelines violations over the past six days.

HPA initiated mass inspections of cafes, restaurants, markets, shops, gyms and salons after the government allowed the establishments to resume operation after a hiatus. While 174 establishments were inspected on Monday, 17 shops, ten cafes and restaurants, five salons and one market was closed for failing to meet the safety guidelines issued by the agency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The inspection is still ongoing.
